We need effective desk stretches to do throughout the day.
We sit WAY TOO MUCH these days. With more and more people working from home, unfortunately we are plugged in front of our computers and other electronic device too many hours of the day.
Have you ever calculated your screen time? I know the phones will tell you your daily screen time…do you look?
Now is the time to change this! Even if it’s a few minutes throughout the day. What if I told you you would only need 5 minutes 4-6 times/day to make this really happen AND make a huge positive impact on your health!
Some of you may be thinking…4-6 times/day. It’s really not that much. You’ll thank yourself tremendously to stop what you are doing and do some stretches!
Get up and go for a walk around your house or around the block! Do you remember when you were at the office on a regular basis, you’d get up and go talk to your co-workers or stop and go for lunch. Guess what…you should still be doing this!
You deserve to take breaks!
What gets affected by sitting so much?
- Our stress levels go up
- We don’t think as clearly
- Our metabolism decreases
- Our posture is negatively affected as we slouch more
- We get tight muscles and joints
- And the list goes on and on
Check out this video. I demonstrate different stretches to easily do at your desk.
The Best Tip: Set a timer on your phone so you stop what you are doing and do some desk stretches. It’s a great time to grab a drink of water also! So many people say they forget to drink their water. Now, you’ve killed 2 birds with one stone.
Another Tip: When you set your alarm, you can change what is worded on your alarm! Where it says “alarm”, change this to something like: “This is my positive stretching time”, “Time to make my body happy”, “I love the way stretching feels”, “It’s some ME Time”….or whatever floats your boat!
You’ll be SO HAPPY you take the time throughout your day to stretch.

- Spinal Rotation
- Neck Stretches
- Chest Stretch
- Arm Stretches
- Hip Stretches (my favorite)
- Standing: Quad
- Hamstring (we really need these!)
- One missed…add in a calf stretch. Especially for the ladies who wear high heels…do calf stretches daily! Otherwise your calf muscle will shorten tremendously.
